Partnership between Start PME and Impacto Positivo: Synergies that transform projects into sustainable businesses
Strategic partnerships between specialized entities are essential to drive projects that generate real environmental and climate impact. It is precisely with this objective that the collaboration between Impacto Positivo and Start PME emerges, a partnership that combines technical and environmental expertise with experience in financing, strategy and implementation of sustainable business projects.
The collaboration between the two entities results from the convergence of common objectives: to develop projects with positive environmental impact, particularly in the field of carbon credits and environmental certification, and to ensure that these projects are financially sound and capable of attracting investment. While Impacto Positivo brings technical knowledge in carbon methodologies, certification and connection to carbon markets, Start PME adds value through its experience in financing, business structuring and access to economic instruments that enable and enhance these projects.
This collaborative model offers holistic support, from the technical design and impact assessment of environmental projects, through the definition of financing strategies and risk analysis, to support in resource mobilization and execution of initiatives. In this way, projects involving nature conservation, sustainable forest management, regenerative agriculture or environmental services can simultaneously meet climate objectives and eligibility criteria for financial tools that make them viable and scalable.
In addition to technical and financial support, the partnership represents an example of innovation in how Portuguese companies can actively participate in the low-carbon economy. Through joint initiatives, companies can strengthen their competitiveness, align their strategies with international sustainability goals and directly contribute to major climate objectives without losing sight of long-term financial and operational sustainability.
Projects developed within Impacto Positivo
The partnership gains practical expression through the development of three projects in Brazil with clear objectives focused on valuing nature and local communities, with consolidated practical results.
Itacitrus: Sustainable agriculture with purpose
Located at Fazenda Nossa Senhora do Bom Sucesso, in Inhambupe (Bahia), the Itacitrus Project is part of the regenerative organic agriculture sector, producing 100% organic Tahiti lime.
Its main objective is to combine sustainable agricultural production with the generation of certified carbon credits, through the ESG/CPR Verde model. The project promotes soil conservation, emission reduction and the strengthening of local biodiversity.
Technical conclusions show an increase of approximately 20.8% in soil carbon storage compared to conventional systems, with an estimated offset potential of around 302,000 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent. The project aims to become carbon neutral by 2026, demonstrating that agriculture can be simultaneously productive, regenerative and financially sustainable.
Cumaru: Regenerating the Amazon
Developed in the southern region of the state of Amazonas, the Cumaru Project covers approximately 35,000 hectares of tropical forest, in one of the most biodiverse regions on the planet.
Its central objective is to implement a sustainable forest management model that allows maintaining and increasing forest carbon stock, reducing pressure on deforestation and generating long-term carbon credits.
Technical studies indicate that the forest managed under this model maintains an average stock of around 155 tonnes of carbon per hectare, with the potential to recover up to 4.5 tC/ha/year in regenerated areas. The main conclusion is clear: when based on robust methodologies and an appropriate legal framework, sustainable forest management can become a long-term climate asset, reconciling conservation and economic activity.
Boa Esperança: Preservation of the Atlantic Forest
Located in the municipality of Santa Luzia, in Bahia, the Boa Esperança Project includes approximately 680.85 hectares within the Atlantic Forest, one of the most threatened biomes in the world.
The project aims to conserve and restore forest areas, protect biodiversity and water resources, and generate certified carbon credits through the CPR Verde framework.
Technical studies identified an average stock of approximately 164 tC/ha, with a total estimated potential of around 408,515 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent. The main conclusion highlights the strategic importance of the project as an ecological corridor and an economic mechanism for valuing the conservation of the Atlantic Forest.
An integrated approach: Technical and financial
It is in this context that the partnership between Impacto Positivo and Start PME becomes particularly relevant. The viability of carbon projects does not depend only on their environmental robustness, but also on their financial structuring, legal framework and ability to attract investment. This joint approach makes it possible to transform ecosystem services into valuable environmental assets, with a clear legal framework and measurable impact.
Carbon credits with integrity
In a growing market, where the risk of greenwashing is real, technical integrity and transparency become key differentiators. The partnership between Impacto Positivo and Start PME positions itself precisely at this level: projects grounded in science, recognized methodologies and a solid regulatory framework.
The collaboration between Impacto Positivo and Start PME represents a structured response to the challenges of the climate transition. By integrating environmental technical knowledge with financial strategy and execution capacity, this partnership demonstrates that it is possible to develop carbon credit projects with real impact, economic value and international relevance.
